Lacey Gonzales is a competitive weightlifter with over two years' experience lifting and competing. Never having played sports in school, Lacey came to weightlifting later in life and found a passion for the sport. She hopes to encourage others and grow the sport by sharing her passion through with the Olympic Weightlifting Club at Alternative Athletics and hosting local meets.

State Games of America Qualifier

All 2015 and 2016 Big Sky State Games medalists, and some 2017 medalists are eligible to compete in the
2017 State Games of America in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Current sports are:

Archery, Basketball, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Disc Golf, Fencing, Figure Skating, Flag Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Karate, Lacrosse, Pickleball, Racquetball, Road Race, Rollerskating, Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tae Kwon Do/Judo, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.

Special Information

Format

Men will be lifting with a 20 kg bar. Women will be lifting with a 15 kg bar. Kilo plates will be used during competition, but the warm up area will be in lbs. Conversions from kg to lbs for every 5 kg will be posted in the warm up area. The competition consists of two lifts which must be executed in the following sequence:

  • The Snatch.
  • The Clean and Jerk.

Both lifts must be executed with two hands. A maximum of three (3) attempts is allowed in each lift.

Rules & Regulations

This is a clean meet. A full set of rules are available on the International Weightlifting Federation website. Single piece costumes (Singlets) are allowed, but not required. T-shirts, shorts, and shoes are fine. Weightlifting shoes are not required, but no barefoot lifters.

Age Categories

The competition is organized for men and women. The athletes compete in the categories specified in the rules, according to their bodyweight. There are four age categories (listed below). All age groups are calculated in the athlete’s year of birth. Bring proof of age.

  • YOUTH: Up to and including seventeen (17) years of age.
  • JUNIOR: Up to and including twenty (20) years of age.
  • SENIOR: 21 - 34.
  • MASTER: 35 and older.

  • Enter weight and weight class on entry form.
  • Divisions may be combined based on number of athletes.
  • Medals will be awarded for combined totals only.
  • For individuals who sign up after July 11, Opening Ceremonies ticket will be at the Information/Will call booth at Daylis Stadium the night of Opening Ceremonies.
