Arthur has participated and volunteered in the Table Tennis Event at the BSSG for many years. Art currently serves as President of the Yellowstone Table Tennis Association in Billings (We meet 3 times a week to play). Art is a retired Mechanical Engineer living in Billings. When not traveling the world he is attempting to play TT anywhere he can locate a table and someone to play with.
All 2017 and 2018 Big Sky State Games medalists, and some 2019 medalists are eligible to compete in the
2018 State Games of America in Lynchburg, Virginia.

USA Table Tennis (USATT) rules will apply. Play will be on STIGA tournament tables with nets and balls provided. Play will be round robin or pool play, depending on number of entries. Bracket play will follow. All matches will be best three out of five games. Semis and Finals will be best four out of seven games. The ball will be orange. If there are fewer than 6 entries in a division, it may be grouped with another division. For age-rated events, 40+ and 50+ use age as of 12-31-16. All games to 11. All participants are encouraged to compete in the open category in addition to other applicable events. There will be A, B, C divisions based upon skill level. Each group will then compete for medals within their respective category. Tournament officials reserve the right to seed players based upon exhibited skill level.
Hard bat competition is limited to players using equipment that consists of a racquet which has rubber sheets glued directly to each of the two wood surfaces of the racquet. The smooth side shall be glued to the racquet and the pips side of the rubber shall be facing outward. Racquets containing a layer of sponge between the wood surface and the rubber do not qualify as a hard bat racquet. Racquets with sandpaper hitting surfaces are not considered hard bat racquets.
Check-In and practice 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. You must be at your event 10 minutes in advance or forfeit your match. No late entries will be allowed. Participants may enter more than one event but athlete must take in account schedule conflicts.
For individuals who sign up after July 17, Opening Ceremonies ticket will be at the Information/Will Call booth at Daylis Stadium the night of Opening Ceremonies.
