Commissioners

Mike and Tawny McVay are Billings natives who own The Asylum, a small gym downtown, and run The Yogi Deadlifter, a lifestyle and fitness blog dedicated to helping people live their best lives. They met as personal trainers at their first job and have been working out together ever since. In their free time they enjoy traveling as often as possible and Netflix binges with their kids, Aidyn and Ely.

State Games of America Qualifier

All 2017 and 2018 Big Sky State Games medalists, and some 2019 medalists are eligible to compete in the
2019 State Games of America in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Current sports are:

Archery, Basketball, Biathlon, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling (Mountain Bike), Disc Golf, Equestrian, Fencing, Figure Skating, Golf, Ice Hockey, Karate, Lacrosse, Pickleball, Racquetball, Road Race, Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tae Kwon Do/Judo, Tennis, Track & Field, Ultimate Frisbee, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.

Special Information

Format

The competition is a Raw meet. The following divisions will be offered:

  • Full Power (Squat, Bench, & Dead Lift)
  • Push/Pull (Bench & Dead Lift)
Gear Requirements
  • Singlet is mandatory.
  • Knee socks are required for dead lift, but belt and wrist wraps are optional.
  • Gear requirements will be strictly enforced!
Rules & Regulations
  • The competition is sanctioned with the 100% Raw Powerlifting Federation. 100% Raw Power Lifting Federation rules apply.
  • This is a natural meet (random drug testing will be conducted).
  • Athletes may cross over (open, age group), and pay for the additional event. The age determination is July 21, 2018. Bring proof of age.
  • An overall male and female winner will be awarded based on a formula.
  • Entries will be capped at 50.
