The program is named after former Executive Director Karen Sanford-Gall and her family. Karen was instrumental in the success of the Big Sky State Games for the last 30 year and her family was a big part of the preparation for Opening Ceremonies every year. Karen and Dan Gall continue to help with the Big Sky State Games every year. The Sanford-Gall Athlete Entry Assistance Program is designed to assist with entry fees for athletes who may not have the opportunity to compete because of the lack of financial resources. This program is possible through individual, corporate, and civic club donations.
