Commissioners

Ellis Heggen has been involved in martial arts since 1981, and has been assisting with the State Games for 24 years. Ellis is a seventh-degree Chief Instructor CHA-3 Kenpo. He is employed by 1st Liberty Federal Credit Union as a Comptroller.

Nelsa has been assisting with the Big Sky State Games Competition for 23 years, serving 15 of those as floor manager. She was also the floor manager for 'Fight for What's Right' tournaments.

State Games of America Qualifier

All 2015 and 2016 Big Sky State Games medalists, and some 2017 medalists are eligible to compete in the
2017 State Games of America in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Current sports are:

Archery, Basketball, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Disc Golf, Fencing, Figure Skating, Flag Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Karate, Lacrosse, Pickleball, Racquetball, Road Race, Rollerskating, Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tae Kwon Do/Judo, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.

Registration Deadline

Online registration will be open until July 14 at NOON. After the deadline, you must register onsite and pay the onsite registration fee of $40.

Team Sparring REPLACES Continuous Sparring.

Divisions

Age groups will be divided at the time of competition into apprpriate divisions based on experience/rank and gender, depending on age and amount of competitors in each group.

Opening Ceremonies

The Opening Ceremonies ticket will be mailed if entered by July 11; otherwise, a ticket will be located at Information/Will Call on July 15 at Daylis Stadium (site of Opening Ceremonies and T-shirt pickup).

Tentative Schedule

All times are approximate and events may start earlier or later than indicated, depending on the number of competitors. No match will bepostponed. Must be present when division is called. No competitors can be added after the start of competition.
