Commissioners

A Realtor at Century 21 here in Billings, Justin assumed the duties of Hockey commissioner from Vince Francischetti in 2011, and has been a USA Hockey official since 2009. Possessing measured experience from within various depths of the regional hockey community, he adheres to the idea of timely communication and empowering the ideas that make the Big Sky State Games valuable.

Jeff moved to Red Lodge from Canada. After selling a business he and his family ran in Red Lodge for 23 years, he moved to Billings. He has been involved in hockey as a player, coach, and parent for many years. He is a past board member and past president of the Billings Amateur Hockey League. Jeff is a Broker with J L Wilson & Associates Realty.

Zach started playing hockey when he was 5 years old. He played his youth hockey with the BAHL. He continued playing hockey for four years in juniors and then in college and continues to play in the adult elite division. Zach is currently coaching the Billings high school hockey team as well as officiating. He is currently serving on the BAHL board and is head of the coaching committee.

State Games of America Qualifier

All 2017 and 2018 Big Sky State Games medalists, and some 2019 medalists are eligible to compete in the
2019 State Games of America in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Current sports are:

Archery, Basketball, Biathlon, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling (Mountain Bike), Disc Golf, Equestrian, Fencing, Figure Skating, Golf, Ice Hockey, Karate, Lacrosse, Pickleball, Racquetball, Road Race, Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tae Kwon Do/Judo, Tennis, Track & Field, Ultimate Frisbee, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.

Special Information

Teams must have a goalie. You may have a minimum of 4 players per team, and a maximum of 8 players total (including the goalie). The first eight teams in each division whose completed entry forms are received are guaranteed a spot in the tournament. Players must play in their age group. All equipment must be worn per USA Hockey rules with no exceptions. No alcohol permitted. MUST HAVE USA HOCKEY CARD PRIOR TO THE TOURNAMENT. USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION AVAILABLE AT usahockey.com

Tournament Format

Guaranteed a minimum of 3 Games or Round Robin

Each game is 25 minutesS (running clock) and will be played on half ice. Referees will be supplied and have final say in all disputes and rules interpretations. Bracket changes will be allowed as needed.
