He has accumulated 8 Big Sky State Games medals (Two Gold, Two Silver and Four Bronze).

Despite reaching the age of 100, Luscombe continues to play in leagues three nights a week. He lives independently and still drives.  According to the Guinness World Book of Records, he is currently the oldest competitive billiards player in the world. A Guinness World  Book of Records application has been submitted.

Luscombe embodies the true spirit of athletic longevity and steadfast, loyal determination.   This remarkable athlete has witnessed a century of sporting history. He continues to inspire everyone with his incredible passion for Billiards.

Sloppy Sets

The Big Sky State Games Team of the Year, Sloppy Sets, are a group of strong, resilient, and supportive women.   They took home the Gold medal in the Women’s Open Silver division this year.  Team members include: Marissa Cumber, Sage Collins, Randi Henderson, Amber Miller, Kayla Wallace and Mikara Willis.  Five of the teammates are from Billings, and one traveled from Joliet.

Some of the players have only been playing together for a year, while others have shared the court for over a decade through volleyball and other sports leagues. Team captain Amber Miller stated, “Each of us faces our own daily challenges—at work, at home, in life, but when we come together, we find strength in each other. The love and encouragement we share doesn’t end when the match is over. It carries into every part of our lives. That’s what makes this team so special.”

Miller has been playing in the Big Sky State Games since she was 14. For the past five years, she has entered a team in all four Big Sky State Games volleyball tournaments (Indoor Women’s, Indoor Co-Ed, Women’s Grass Quads and Co-Ed Grass Quads).

The team steps on the court to strive for the win, but they know it is about so much more than the win.   Every match they celebrate heart, perseverance, and the love that defines this group of women.  Their sportsmanship, effort, and positive attitude shine on and off the court.
