Mike Nys has been involved in the State Games every year from the beginning. He was a volleyball participant in the inaugural games in 1986. He served as Tennis Commissioner for 9 years, and this year marks his 20th as Volleyball Commissioner. Mike competed in 10 different sports in the 2007 games, and still holds the record for most sports competed in a single games. Mike was named Osborne Volunteer in 2012. Mike serves as stage manager for opening ceremonies and also helps organize and operate the Soaked Fun Run.

State Games of America Qualifier

All 2015 and 2016 Big Sky State Games medalists, and some 2017 medalists are eligible to compete in the
2017 State Games of America in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Current sports are:

Archery, Basketball, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Disc Golf, Fencing, Figure Skating, Flag Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Karate, Lacrosse, Pickleball, Racquetball, Road Race, Rollerskating, Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tae Kwon Do/Judo, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.
