Commissioners

Bryan is a nationally ranked veteran fencer who has trained with numerous high level coaches from across the country. Bryan has competed in many events from local to regional and all the way up to the national level including qualifiers for international teams. Bryan started coaching in 2005 and has coached elite fencers at multiple levels, including podium finishes at national competitions. Some of his fencers have been recruited by and fenced on prestigious NCAA teams. Bryan is a member of the US Fencing Coaches Association and has worked as a referee at local, regional, and national events.

Laura Lee has been involved with MFA since the beginning. The club started when her twin sons decided they wanted to take up fencing and the family soon found out that options for youth fencing in Montana were very limited. Nevertheless, the family was able to put together lessons for the two boys with fencers from the University of Montana, and within a few years, a club was born. An accountant by trade, Laura enjoys running the business end of the club and just recently started fencing herself. Laura has always had an affinity for individual sports, and is thrilled to have found one she can compete in as an adult. For Laura, fencing is just one area in her life she appreciates having been led into by her children. Still a beginner, she finds fencing challenging to both body and brain and loves the people she meets by attending fencing tournaments both in Montana and other areas of the country. Outside of fencing and work, Laura enjoys hiking, reading, gardening and living in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
