The 10th Annual Big Sky State Games National Anthem Contest winner is Madison Lodell of Anaconda. The online contest entailed video performances submitted by the contestants. Music professionals selected the top five participants. The public was invited to select the winner in the online competition. Lodell recently completed her junior year at Anaconda High School. She will sing the National Anthem at the 34th Annual Big Sky State Games Opening Ceremonies on Friday, July 19th in Billings.
Lodell has been singing since she was two years old. She has performed in numerous school programs and concerts with her high school choir. She was encouraged in high school to begin singing the National Anthem by her teachers. She was a 2018 Mining City Star semi-finalist.
She has been singing since she can remember and has always had a passion for it. Lodell said that “Singing the National Anthem is personally rewarding and I am very excited to perform at the Big Sky State Games.” Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the Parade of Athletes begins at 7:30 p.m. at Wendy’s Field at Daylis Stadium.
