Montana Singers: Show Off Your Talent

The 32nd annual Big Sky State Games is July 14, 15, and 16, 2017. For the 7th year, the State Games will host a National Anthem Contest search to determine who will sing the National Antehm at the July 14, 2017 Opening Ceremonies in Billings.

Contestants Must...
  • sing the National Anthem without accompaniment
  • be available to sing in Billings during Opening Ceremonies
  • be a Montana resident

How to Enter

Post Video By April 24th

You can enter from March 13th - April 24th by posting a video of yourself singing the National Anthem, and then notifying us via email. There are two options for posting the video. You can either:

Post a video of yourself singing the National Anthem
to the Big Sky State Games Facebook page.


Post a video of yourself singing the National Anthem
to YouTube and share the link.

Notify Us

After you post your video, don't forget to send an email to that contains your name, address, age, phone number, email address, and t-shirt size. If you posted your video to youtube, be sure to include the link as well.

How the Winner is Determined

The top FIVE finalists will be determined by a panel of judges, and the five finalists' videos will then be posted to the Big Sky State Games Facebook page. The public will determine the winner via survey.

*The Big Sky State Games will provide Friday evening hotel accommodations if the winner resides out of town.

2016 National Anthem Contest Winner

Congratulations to the 2016 BSSG National Anthem Contest Winner, Cora Rose Wood! Cora Rose sang her heart out at the Opening Ceremonies on July 15, 2016. Thank you for making the evening one to remember, Cora Rose!

The fifteen year old from Crow Agency will be a freshman at Hardin High School this fall. Cora began performing at age five, and began singing the National Anthem at rodeos at age seven.Since then she has had the honor or performing the National Anthem at rodeos in Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, Montana, and South Dakota. Cora was named the Western Music Association’s Youth Yodeler of the Year in 2008 and 2010, and has been a featured performer at cowboy gatherings throughout the western states. Cora plays the flute in the school band, plays the guitar, and writes some of her own music. She released a CD in 2009, at age seven, called Cora’s Cowgirl Yodel, which included several of her own compositions.

Besides music, Cora enjoys volleyball, softball, track, fishing, roping, and helping her dad work cows. She will be competing at the Big Sky State Games this summer in either track or doubles volleyball and shooting. Cora sang the National Anthem at the 31st Annual Big Sky State Games Opening Ceremonies at Wendy’s Field at Daylis Stadium in Billings.
